A fun-filled morning of play with the Kiumbes
The Kiumbes really like to go outside to visit the children and we like to fulfil this wish. One such trip was arranged for Saturday, March 22nd. The Kiumbes set out to MammaCafé in Prague’s Vodíčkova street for a fun-filled morning of play. MammaCafé is a beautiful, non-smoking and Kiumbe-friendly café, where you can drink coffee made on the principles of FairTrade.
It was the parents, however, who drank the coffee – the children rushed to the Kiumbe colouring books prepared for them. The puzzle and the classic Kiumbeade were played, the children answered simple questions in a short quiz about Kenya, and spoke to Renata Rokůsková about the lives of children in Africa. At the end, every child received a small gift from the publishing company Mladá Fronta.
We discovered many things about the lives of the Kiumbes from the children – like what their favourite place to go on trips is, who will marry who and even that they already have a little brother called Whitey. We are very happy that everyone likes the Kiumbes and that, thanks to the children, the Kiumbes live very interesting lives.
The fun-filled morning of play was a great experience for us and we plan more events with the Kiumbes for the spring and summer. We must mention for example Prague Story-telling, which will take place on May 15th on Prague’s Smíchov Beach and Theatre in the Park on May 22nd (www.divadlovparku.cz). We look forward to our next get-together and we hope that you enjoy the spring in the meantime.
