Two Saturdays with the Kiumbes
For quite a long time, we have been seeing that our dear Waterina is a little bit glum and silent, which is not very typical of her. We are neglecting her, she said.
We took Woody and Claybie to the park. Flamster warmed up at the Morning of Play in the café and roastery, only Waterina hasn’t been to the water yet.
Of course, we had to set things right, so on Saturday the 15th of May, we set out to the Smíchov beach. You see, the Prague Story-telling event was happening there that day. It is a beautiful event, which takes place every year as part of the Prague Celebrations.
During the day, several stories were played on the beach, the children had the chance to make their own paper hats, take a picture with Snow White and play the Kiumbeade. We would like to send a big thank you to the organisation Nedomysleno, specifically to Wendy Čiháková and Robert Kozlar for taking us with them to the beach. We just have to try to persuade Flamster to put things right with that ruddy volcano in Iceland, because it is apparently its fault that May here is cold and rainy.
On the next Saturday, that is the 22nd of May, the Kiumbes spent a day in the Kunratice chateau park, which is also the place where the Theatre in the Park event takes place every year. Despite the occasional morning showers, the weather was exceedingly great and the Kiumbes enjoyed the plays, creative workshops and The Tap Tap group’s concert very much. But mainly, they played and had fun. This time, our young and clever helpers, who we take along with us just in case there wouldn’t be enough children to play the game, almost did not get near the playing table. The Theatre in the Park event was so far the most successful event of the year for the Kiumbes. And although we are very happy for the contacts we have gained and the figures and games that we have sold, the most beautiful things for us were the absorbed faces of the children, who were evidently enjoying the game very much :) A big thank you goes to Mr. Andelt, the organiser of the Theatre in the Park event, for letting us take part in this great event.
If some sort of similar event is being prepared in your area, we will be very happy if you invite us or let us know about it.
We wish you a lovely day,
The Kiumbes
