Give an opportunity
Give them the opportunity to stand on their own two feet. Give 500 Kč a month and you will help one family out of poverty for one year. 100% of your donation will be given to a chosen family.
The project "Give an Opportunity" motivates the unemployed in Kenya to find their own possibilities, teaches them how to use them through self-help groups and microfinance. Microloans also enable them to start their own businesses. Thanks to this, they have the opportunity to work where they live, support their own children, live a normal life and become independent of outside help.
The project is aimed at poor people who don't have the option of obtaining a loan from a bank. Those interested are encouraged to form self-help groups, in which they begin to save up money. To find enough courage for this step, they need to trust each other. That is why it is good if the founders of the group come from the same community, for example church, village... Through the entire process, group members take part in a series of professional training exercises about the functioning and rules of self-help groups, the principles of saving money and loans, the basis of entrepreneurship, accounting, management of finances...This significantly lowers the probability that their efforts will end in failure. After each training exercise, the knowledge is immediately put into practise. Firstly, the group is formed and stabilised. Then a period of money saving comes. When they reach a certain amount of capital, they start to provide loans to their members. Even the loan system has its precise rules and is under the surveillance of the entire group. After this small individual or group businesses will be established - street sales, small shops, workshops... The instructor continues to provide consultation and arranges further education as needed. The motivation of those taking part is high and so is their success rate. Their families have a stable long-term income and will never experience the deepest form of poverty again. In time, they can take on employees and in this way help someone else in need.
The ability of groups to accumulate capital merely from their own sources is very low, so entrepreneurial activity is rather slow at the beginning. That is why ShineBean mediates support of concrete entrepreneurial intentions. 100% of the donation received will be given to the starting entrepreneur as a loan, which he will pay back according to the rules of the group. The money returned will be used to support another starting entrepreneur, usually within the same group.
