Prospects for Africa
Let’s look at our world from a different viewpoint. How do prospects for Africa affect us?
Prospects for Africa is a continuation of our School to School Project. It is aimed at Czech schools, students and teachers. Together, we will explore the distant African world through educational programmes aimed at some of the most burning issues of this continent. Children that have the opportunity to see for themselves, explore and understand, will be able to engage not only in far away matters but also in common situations in their own everyday lives.
We offer educational programmes to schools with the theme ‘Life of Children in Kenya’, ‘Living with Nature’, ‘The Path to Education’, ‘The Most Serious Illnesses in Africa and What to Do with Them?’, ‘Working Together – How to Do it?’. These programmes are tailored to grade 1 – 9 students, as well as high school students. Students taking part in these programmes will see a number of photographs accompanied by a presentation and they also have a chance to discuss interesting questions, join group projects and a number of other interesting activities.
Our cooperation with schools does not end with educational programmes – that’s where it begins. Students have the opportunity to communicate and cooperate with children of their age in Kenya. Writing letters is very popular both on the 50th parallel and on the Equator. Thanks to this, children can practise their English, but mainly, they will have a new friend. Some schools are also helping to prepare school accessories for insufficiently equipped schools in Kenya. Supporters of the Open School Project from some schools are also coming forward with financial support for equipping our partner schools, or they decide to support a child in need.
